Peace of Mind Cleaning & Disinfecting For Coronavirus In The Workplace

Whether it is your home, business, place of entertainment, eating establishment, place of worship, or other place of public interaction, it is recommended to properly clean and disinfect commonly-touched or contacted surfaces to reduce the threat of surface contact with COVID-19 and other viral pathogens. The Centers For Disease Control (CDC) estimates that COVID-19 can remain live and active on surfaces for 3-days. The CDC also states that the COVID-19 virus can remain airborne for 3 hours. Research of this virus is ongoing and fluid, so there is currently no firm authority to confirm precisely the complexities of how the COVID-19 is spread through the community.

Although technically there is no cure for viruses, peace of mind comes from knowing that commonly touched surfaces have undergone the recommended 7-stage process for proper cleaning and disinfecting surfaces using only EPA-Registered antimicrobials designated for use in the fight against COVID-19 in strict accordance with EPA and manufacturer's guidelines for application and use.

You can learn more about the 7-stages we follow by watching the video narrated below by Dr. Jose M. Ramirez, Ms, Phd, Lead Science Advisor For Virox.

DISCLAIMER: It is not our intent on this website, or any other materials disseminated by Blue Moon, to suggest that we believe any one approach, procedure, or product meant to help in the fight against the spread or contamination of viruses, bacterias, and other contaminants is 100% effective by itself at actually stopping or preventing the spread or contamination alone. There are many factors and inputs to spread prevention programs that go far and beyond cleaning and disinfecting such as washing hands frequently, avoiding hand to face contact, and coughing or sneezing into tissue, a rag, or your elbow.  To the extent that proper cleaning and disinfection is an essential component of a greater spread prevention program we follow the guidelines for doing so that have been established by recognized authorities and manufactures of the most up-to-date cleaning and disinfection products.

Questions We Typically Ask

Prior to performing a cleanse and disinfect we like to ask several questions about the environment. Here is a sampling of some of those questions we ask:

  • Has anyone been present in the building who is known to have tested positive or suspected to have been exposed for the COVID-19 Virus?
  • Will we be cleaning and disinfecting any kitchens and/or restrooms?
  • Does anyone known to suffer from respiratory illness currently occupy the building?
  • Does anyone known to have high sensitivity to cleaners and disinfectants occupy the building?
  • What types of content cleaning will you require? For example, what kind of contents will we need to cleanse and disinfect? Will we need to manipulate phones, computers, keyboards, screens, and other sensitive electronics?
  • When was the last time the building was cleaned

The answers to these questions will help us better-design a cleaning and disinfection program that is just right for your situation.

Environmental Surface Cleansing & Disinfecting

We Use Only Surface-Appropriate Surfactants and EPA-Registered Anti-Microbial Treatments.

In light of the current fight to stop the potential spread of COVID-19 (a/k/a "novel coronavirus"), Blue Moon Cleaning & Restoration offers environmental surface cleansing and disinfecting using only anti-microbial agents which are registered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 a/k/a "Novel Coronavirus).

Recommendations of the Centers For Disease Control (CDC)

According to the CDC, novel coronavirus may remain viable for days on surfaces made from a variety of materials. Thorough cleansing and disinfecting of these surfaces is a best practice measure for prevention of the spread of Coronavirus and other viral respiratory illnesses. You can learn more about what the CDC has published by clicking here.

Cleaning surfaces involves 4 steps that begin with dry wiping or removal of dry soils as a starting point from any surface followed by application of some type of surfactant or detergent to suspend soils to the surface so they can be extracted or easily wiped away. Cleaning is just as important as Disinfection

Disinfection involves applying a chemical (in strict accordance with the manufacture's recommendations) with the express purpose of killing or preventing the spread of some type of pathogen. It could be bacteria, virus, or some type of germ that can cause health problems or discomfort for humans. Most of the chemicals designed as viruscides, bacteriacides, fungicides, and other anti-microbials have toxicity levels that must be closely monitored.

The goal is to maintain a cleaning and disinfection program that is suitable to you and your needs, one that considers your surfaces and interior contents, and common sensitivities.

We strive to communicate and educate our clients on recommended best practices, tools, and techniques. Contact us to discuss your cleaning and disinfection needs at 800-503-3585.
